How to network at ADE and other music conferences: What 30 years in the biz has taught me.
I’ve shared 20 practical tips for networking in my latest blog. These come from nearly 30 years of trial and error in the biz, from avoiding time-wasting outreach to keeping your energy up during the week. A couple of tasters: at ADE, you’ll see a sea of black clothing, so wear something that makes you easy to spot if you want to stand out from the crowd. And remember, some of the best people I’ve met there were not in panels, but in queues, cafés and especially in the loos. I first shared these insights during the recent EMC × Association For Electronic Music, Mixmag Asia × Sounds Australia pre-Amsterdam Dance Event session, where I was asked to give advice on practical preparation for networking that actually works.
