About Me

With three decades in the music industry, I have established a solid foundation in the independent recording and music publishing sectors. My extensive international experience has equipped me to navigate cultural complexities and build strong, trust-based relationships worldwide.

As the founder of Mandy Salem-Aubry Music Services, I offer specialised advisory services, mentorship, and education deeply integrated into my professional practice. I provide comprehensive guidance and training in the music business, focusing on rights management, music publishing, career advancement, and professional network optimisation. Additionally, I advise music startups, helping them innovate and thrive by aligning with their specific business goals.

I am passionate about moderating panels at music conferences and leading engaging and inclusive discussions that foster knowledge-sharing and collaboration among industry professionals. My career includes pivotal roles at Songtrust, Fintage House, and Roadrunner Records, showcasing my versatile expertise and leadership within the dynamic music business.

On a personal note, I am in my early 50s, British, and also French through marriage. I have lived in Leiden, the Netherlands, since 1997. We have two almost grown-up daughters, two sweet rabbits, and an aquarium.  Little relaxes me more in my spare time than tending to my garden and maintaining our fish tank.

I have worked with many bands and artists of different genres during my career, including electronic music, hard rock, heavy metal, Hip Hop and pretty much everything in between (even One Direction, Dire Straits, Elton John, Cliff Richard and Def Leppard). My own eclectic taste in music ranges from 60s/70s hippy tunes (John Martyn, The Byrds, Lynyrd Skynyrd) to 80s favourites (including many of those highly uncool ballads) and 90s Britpop (Oasis, Pulp, Blur). I love David Bowie, the Waterboys and Radiohead. On the heavier side, I enjoy New Model Army and have a fondness for most of the Roadrunner bands I worked with. Some of my favourite songs include “Absolute Beginners” (David Bowie), “A Whiter Shade of Pale” (Procol Harum), “Ashes to Ashes” (David Bowie), “Over the Hill” (John Martyn), and “Wish You Were Here” (Pink Floyd).
