Practical tools to stay ahead in rights management

Today’s music publishing environment demands sharper tools and smarter I work with modern solutions like Claimy, which helps rights holders recover missed royalties and improve claim accuracy. Vollou uses music recognition technology (MRT) to identify unreported uses. Synclodge streamlines sync project management and licensing workflows. These partnerships help my clients stay proactive, informed, and better positioned to collect what they’re due.

Data management

I prepare catalogue data in the correct format for third-party administrators or direct ingestion into royalty systems. This ensures your data is clean, structured, and ready for use across platforms such as Vistex Counterpoint (Music Maestro), Curve, or custom .csv templates.

Copyright registration

I manage the full registration process, from submitting works to tracking acknowledgements at collection societies and income sources. I monitor timelines, verify database entries, and handle rejections quickly. Once registrations are confirmed, I can also prepare back claims and submit live performance setlists where needed.

Counterclaim resolution

Conflicts can arise when another party claims the same work, when shares exceed 100%, or when prior publishers haven’t relinquished rights. I bring extensive experience in resolving these disputes and navigating the processes required to clear them. While a work is in conflict, royalties remain blocked, so resolving counterclaims quickly is essential.

Income tracking

Income tracking starts at registration, allowing early visibility on key works and prioritisation of active items. I stay in close contact with clients, factoring in insights from the recording side, such as streaming activity, to ensure royalty payments are in line with expectations and correctly attributed by territory.

Live performance setlist submissions

If songs in your catalogue are performed live — whether you’re a writer, producer, or rights holder — submitting setlists is essential. Performance royalties from touring, even in smaller licensed venues, can be a valuable source of income. Timely setlist submissions help ensure royalties are claimed, tracked, and distributed accurately.

Sync licensing & negotiation

I support sync licensing opportunities by handling initial negotiations and helping secure fair terms. Timing is key — delays can cost placements, while rushed approvals can expose you to unfavourable terms around territory, duration, and fees. While not a lawyer, I bring solid experience in sync and know the right questions to ask, working closely with your legal team to move quickly and wisely.

Desk audits

I conduct desk audits for music publishers to review the accuracy and efficiency of their catalogue management. By reviewing admin records, royalty statements, and society registrations, I identify gaps, discrepancies, and missed earnings. This helps ensure your catalogue is working as it should — financially and administratively.

"Mandy Aubry has shown to be one of the most reliable and dedicated business partners our company has worked with. She made the unpredictable and sometimes chaotic music business a little more steady for us." - Bart Suèr, Dox Music Publishing

The numerous recommendations I’ve received on LinkedIn offer a valuable insight into my dedicated management of publishing catalogues over the years, and I am grateful for each testimonial.
